“Those who sow in tears shall reap with shouts of joy! He who goes out weeping, bearing the seed for sowing, shall come home with shouts of joy, bringing his sheaves with him.” ~ Psalm 126: 5-6
Shake the Dust
beloved
you gentle dove
feathered grey
in shrouded mourning
whose heart thrums
on the floor
you nest in ashes
making dust your home
take heart
you coo-er of sorrow
and sad song
your sown tears
will not be dead for long
come morning
your tears will turn
to shouts of joy
what’s sown
in deepest ache
will spring forth hope
in wild phlox
and trillium
unfurl your wings
as the unfurled shoots
rejoice in truth
the harvest
will be soon
shake the dust
from off your head
take flight
and sing a song
of joy instead
"you coo-er of sorrow"—love this.
